The Professor’s Economic Dashboard

In management there is a saying that says you can not manage what you can measure.  Since we frequently discuss the status of the US economy on the show I thought I would add some of the key indicators to the website.  I may add some others over time as new gadgets and widgets become available.  The key indicators are Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is computed quarterly.  Inflation or deflation is measured by the Consumer Price Indexes (CPI).  It and unemployment statistics are released monthly.  The crude oil and gold prices are today’s market values.  There is also overview of Federal spending, debt and deficits and the tax burden as well.
