Jim Leggette has long enjoyed the challenge of combining economic analysis with history and politics to create an analytical perspective on current events. Currently, he is completing a book on the long-term economic effects of Ronald Reagan’s Presidency. Jim’s insight and analysis led to several shorter pieces he published on the Reagan legacy. As a guest co-host on talk shows, Jim has given an interesting and lively discussion of politics, economics, and history. In addition, he serves as an Adjunct Professor of economics and business as several Jackson, Mississippi area colleges.
Jim applied his economic analysis of critical business issues in a successful sixteen-year career within the telecommunications industry. Within the tumultuous and ever changing industry, Jim specialized in developing pricing strategies and tactics, which increased the profitability and competitiveness of several leading telecom firms. In addition to his talk radio appearances, Jim has shared his vast knowledge of pricing and deregulation issues through several published articles, professional meeting speaking engagements and testimony before Public Service Commissions. Moreover, he designed and presented seminars on economic analysis and public policy issues to telecommunications executives and policymakers.
Jim was born and raised in the Durham, North Carolina, the heart of the Triangle area. Jim earned a B.A. in economics from the University of North Carolina and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of South Carolina where he taught introductory and intermediate level economics courses. In his spare time, Jim pursues his life long hobby of competitive sailing and is an avid fan of University of North Carolina basketball. |
